Kept quiet. Kept dark.
Mulberry silk for the hour before sleep, from Seoul — made to hold the dark.

THE KYOTO COLLECTION · Nº 1
In the old quarters of Kyoto, evening still comes slowly. Wooden shutters close, the eaves turn ink-dark over the river, and the night is left dark until morning. Our first collection begins here — two shades, named for the ink of Kyoto's night and the peach blossom our name comes from.
The hour before sleep
There is an hour, just before sleep, when the world grows distant.
Light softens. Sound falls away. The day loosens its hold.
We made Tōgen for that hour — a small place of quiet, wherever you are.
桃源
The name
THE PEACH BLOSSOM SPRING
Tōgen is the Japanese reading of 桃源: a hidden valley in a fourth-century story, found by a fisherman who forgot how far he had gone.
We named ourselves after that place.
Each collection that follows walks a little further into the story.
桃源
Sleep is when the skin does its slow work. Darkness keeps that rhythm unbroken.
Cut from 22-momme mulberry silk and contoured to lift away from your lashes, so the dark stays close and the silk rests lightly.
Recovery happens in the dark.
Tōgen keeps it there.
We are gathering a small circle of founding creators — people who treat sleep as part of beauty. If that is you, we would love to hear from you.
